The short version
We do not ask you to register, and we do not sell your personal information.
As of Tuesday, July 14, 2026 this site carries no advertising and no affiliate links. The only third party collecting anything about your visit today is Google Analytics. The advertising and affiliate sections below describe what will happen when those go live — we are telling you before, not after.
What we collect ourselves
If you email us, we have your email and whatever you wrote in it. We keep it so we can reply and, if it was a correction, so we have a record of it. We do not add you to any mailing list without your asking.
We do not operate accounts, logins, comments, or newsletters on this site.
Third parties that collect data on this site
Google AdSense (not yet active)
We intend to use Google AdSense to display advertising. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to see which articles people read and how they arrived. It sets cookies and collects information including your IP address (which Google may truncate), device, browser, and the pages you visit. We use it in aggregate; we do not attempt to identify individual readers.
You can prevent this with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Affiliate networks (not yet active)
Some links on this site will be affiliate links, tracked through affiliate networks including CJ (Commission Junction), Rakuten Advertising, and Awin. When you click one, the network sets a cookie so the merchant knows the visit came from us, and pays us a commission if you buy. That cookie tells them a purchase came from this site. It does not give us your payment details, and we never see them.

Hosting
This site is hosted on Google Firebase Hosting, which keeps standard server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) for security and reliability purposes.
Cookies, and how to refuse them
Every browser lets you block or delete cookies, and the opt-out links above turn off personalized advertising specifically. Blocking cookies will not stop you reading anything on this site — the articles are plain HTML and need no cookie to load.
Your rights
If you are in California, the CCPA gives you the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information. If you are in the EU or UK, the GDPR gives you rights of access, correction, deletion, and objection.
To exercise any of these, email contact@onlinebusinesscheck.com and say what you want. We will do it.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we add a vendor that collects data, this page gets updated before the vendor goes live — not after. The date at the top tells you when it last changed.
