Corrections

We write about money for people who cannot afford to act on a wrong number. So when we get one wrong, we fix it where everyone can see.

The policy

  • We correct the article, and we say what changed. A corrected article carries a note at the bottom stating what was wrong, what it now says, and the date it was fixed.
  • We do not quietly edit. Changing a number and saying nothing is how a publication loses the right to be believed.
  • We do not delete to hide. If an article is withdrawn, the page stays up and explains why.
  • Every correction is listed here, in date order, permanently.

Tell us

Email contact@onlinebusinesscheck.com with the article, the sentence, and what is wrong. A link to the correct source makes it faster. You do not need to be polite about it.

Corrections are looked at the same day.

The record

No corrections have been issued yet. This site is new. When there are corrections, they will appear here, and this sentence will be gone.

What counts as a correction

A wrong figure, a misattributed quote, a misstated fact, a broken claim about what a document says. Those get corrected and logged.

Fixing a typo or a broken link is not a correction and does not get logged. Changing the meaning of a sentence is, and does.

Our full editorial standards explain how we source and verify what we publish in the first place.
